On 26 September, the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration for Chinese Students and Scholars in New South Wales was successfully held at Sydney Town Hall. H.E. Consul General Wang Yu, Assistant Speaker of the NSW Legislative Assembly and Member for Strathfield Mr. Jason Yat-Sen Li, and Sydney City Councillor Mr. Robert Kok attended the event and delivered remarks. More than 1,500 guests, including representatives from universities, Chinese students and scholars, as well as Australian and international students, gathered for the celebration.

Wang Yu extended festive greetings to Chinese students and scholars across the consular district and expressed sincere appreciation to people from all sectors who have long cared about the development and well-being of Chinese students and supported educational exchanges and cooperation between China and Australia.
Wang Yu noted that President Xi Jinping’s four global initiatives are aligned with the purposes and principles of the UN Charter. While each has its own focus, they are mutually reinforcing and complementary. Together, they will contribute positive energy to a world undergoing profound changes and provide stronger impetus for human development and progress from different perspectives.
Wang Yu encouraged students to keep in mind President Xi Jinping’s expectations for young people in the new era, serve as ambassadors for Chinese culture, actively participate in China-Australia friendship and exchanges, and find their own coordinates and sense of purpose in the journey ahead.
