On 7 June, the Consulate-General of China in Sydney hosted the Multicultural & Multi-ethnic Gala. H.E. Consul General Wang Yu attended and delivered a keynote address. The event was celebrated by over 600 guests, including members of diverse communities in Australia, Consuls-General or representatives of Croatia, Romania, the Republic of Korea, Pakistan, Thailand and Indonesia in Sydney, as well as members of Parliament and city councillors.

In his address, Wang Yu emphasized the profound significance of the Global Civilization Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping and the International Day for Dialogue among Civilizations, while highlighting China's efforts and achievements in promoting exchanges among civilisations and ethnic unity and progress. Wang Yu noted that the Consulate-General of China in Sydney stands ready to continue working with friends from all sectors in Australia to foster multicultural integration among people from different countries and ethnic groups, and to make new contributions to the advancement of human civilization.
