On 21 February, the 2026 "Happy Chinese New Year" Spring Festival Concert was grandly held at the Sydney Opera House. H.E. Consul General Wang Yu attended the event and delivered a speech. Mark Coure MP, NSW Shadow Minister for Multiculturalism, Max Holzner, Chair of Sydney Eisteddfod, as well as other representatives from Australia’s political, business and overseas Chinese communities, were also present.

H.E. Consul General Wang Yu noted that cultural, tourism and sports exchanges between China and Australia flourished in 2025, adding that such cultural events have built a bridge of people-to-people trust for the friendship between the two countries. In the Year of the Horse, he expressed the hope that both sides will work hand in hand to deepen cultural mutual learning and jointly forge a bright future for China-Australia relations.

Australian guests spoke highly of the multicultural value of the Chinese New Year and commended the contributions made by the Chinese community. The concert was organized by the Australia China Economics, Trade & Culture Association, undertaken by Ausfeng Group and CSFI, and supported by the NSW Government, the City of Sydney, and the China Cultural Center in Sydney. As one of the "Happy Chinese New Year" brand events, the concert featured joint performances by Chinese and Australian artists, creating a joyful and vibrant festive atmosphere. The event further facilitated the dissemination of Chinese culture and strengthened the people-to-people bonds between China and Australia.
