2023/04/25

China-bound travelers are allowed to use COVID-19 antigen test (using self-testing antigen kit included) to replace PCR tests from April 29, 2023 (local time). Airlines will no longer check the test results before boarding. To facilitate traveling, the Chinese Consulate-General in Sydney has updated Guide on Epidemic Prevention and Control Measures for China-bound Travelers. Please read the following information carefully and strictly abide by it.

Guide on Epidemic Prevention and Control Measures for China-bound Travelers

I. Pre-boarding Nucleic Acid Test

All China-bound travelers will need to take nucleic acid test for COVID-19 or use self-testing antigen kit within 48 hours before boarding, and can only travel to China when test result is negative or after it turns from positive to negative.

ll. Health Declaration to China Customs

All China-bound travelers are required to declare negative test result to China Customs by filling in the Health Declaration Form on the WeChat mini-program of China Customs (scan the QR code below), or at https://htdecl.chinaport.gov.cn/htdeclweb/home/pages/index/index.html, or via the China Customs APP.

Ill. Airlines will no longer check the results of antigen test or nucleic acid test before boarding.

IV. Self-protection on the Aircraft

All China-bound travelers should strictly abide by the epidemic prevention requirements of the airlines throughout the flight and take good personal protection to reduce the risk of infection.

V. Inspection upon Entry: Travelers need to finish customs procedures with their health declaration code, and China Customs will conduct sampling inspection of all declarations. Inbound travelers with no issues to report in their health declaration and have been given regular customs inspection can enter China without being subject to quarantine. Those with issues to report in their health declaration or symptoms such as fever shall receive tests at the customs. Those who test positive may self-quarantine at home or place of residence or seek medical attention by following relevant instructions.

VI. After-entry Epidemic Prevention and Control

After entry into China, passengers will have to strictly abide by the epidemic prevention and control requirements of the place where they stay.
