On 9 July, the “Refreshing Fujian，The Art of Living” Culture and Tourism Promotion Event and “Varied Fujian Tea” Fujian Tea (China) Maritime Silk Road Promotion Tour (Sydney), was held in Sydney. H.E. Consul General Wang Yu attended and delivered a speech.

Wang Yu said that tourism and cultural exchange bring people together across distance and borders. They are the most natural and lasting way to build trust between our two sides. As an important starting point of the ancient Maritime Silk Road, Fujian has long exported its tea products via time-honored maritime trade routes, serving as a distinctive symbol of economic and cultural exchanges between China and the world.

The Consulate‑General of China in Sydney will keep serving as a bridge between China and New South Wales. It will help move cooperation beyond occasional tourist visits toward closer industry ties in tourism, culture etc. The Consulate-General also works to deepen people‑to‑people and business links between the two places, build broader public support for friendly relations, and keep sub‑national exchanges between China and Australia steady and durable.

The event featured a rich, immersive atmosphere, with Fujian tea tastings, intangible cultural heritage displays, tourism promotion sessions, and art performances offering diverse audiences in New South Wales a closer view of Fujian and a meaningful platform for deepening engagement with China.
