Consul General's Message
2020/10/13

Welcome to the official website of the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Sydney.

The Consulate General was established on 19 March 1979, and its consular district is the state of New South Wales in south eastern Australia. With the longest history, largest population and the most developed economy in Australia, NSW has long been at the forefront of Australian states and territories in developing relations with China. In recent years, China has maintained its status as NSW's largest trading partner, and NSW has attracted nearly half of Chinese investment in Australia, about 60% of Chinese tourists and more than 30% of Chinese students.

The sound and stable development of China-Australia relations serves the fundamental interests of the two peoples, and state/province cooperation constitutes an important foundation for the bilateral relations. The Chinese Consulate General in Sydney is committed to promoting friendly exchanges and mutually beneficial cooperation between the Chinese side and New South Wales in various fields, with a view to enhancing mutual understanding and friendship between the Chinese and Australian peoples. The Consulate General will do its utmost to protect the legal rights and interests of Chinese citizens and enterprises in NSW in accordance with the law, and provide high quality consular service to both Chinese citizens and foreigners.

I and my colleagues at the Consulate General are willing to serve as a window for friends from the wider community in NSW to better understand China's development, China-Australia relations and cooperation between the Chinese side and NSW, as well as a bridge between overseas Chinese and their motherland.

Thank you for your support, and we welcome your valuable comments and suggestions.
