Consul General Li Huaxin Called on Leader of NSW Labor

On 3 June, Consul General Li Huaxin paid an official call on Mr. John Robertson MP, Leader of NSW Labor and Leader of the Opposition.

Consul General Li cited the fruitful visit by Prime Minister Julia Gillard in April and said his Consulate General is willing to work with NSW Labor for even closer China-Australia and China-NSW ties.

Mr. Robertson welcomed Consul General Li and reiterated NSW Labor’s commitment to a strong relationship with China.

Consul General Li also congratulate Ernest Wong for being elected as Member of NSW Legislative Council. Mr. Wong, also present at the meeting, assumed office on 23 May. He is the only Chinese Australian currently serving in the NSW Parliament.

Deputy Consul General Liu Kan was also present at the meeting.
