Consul General Hu Shan Visits Campbelltown

At the invitation of Councilor Aaron Rule, Mayor for the City of Campbelltown, H. E. Hu Shan, Chinese Consul General in Sydney paid an official visit to Campbelltown on Tuesday July 6th. Mr. Hu and Mayor Aaron Rule had a deep and pleasant exchange of opinions about China-Australia relations, the relation between China and NSW and Campbelltown’ relations with Chinese cities.


Mayor Rule warmly welcomed Mr. Hu to Campbelltown, and expressed his sincere thanks to the Chinese Consulate General in Sydney for its donation of books to the Library of Campbelltown. Mr. Rule also briefed Mr. Hu about the economic and social conditions of Campbelltown, and said the people of Campbelltown would like to develop exchange and cooperation with various Chinese cities with the support and assistance of the Chinese Consulate General in Sydney.

Mr. Hu thanked Mr. Rule for his kind invitation. He briefed Mr. Rule of the recent development of the China-Australia relationship and that between China and the State of New South Wales. He pledged his full support to the development of friendship between the two cities and the cities of China and promised to do his uttermost to assist.

Mr. Hu also availed himself of the opportunity to convey China’s City of Changchun’s wish to establish a friendship relationship with Campbelltown, for which Mayor Rule thanked him. The two also had a deep exchange of views on issues of common interests.
