Consul General Hu Shan visits Fairfield and Lane Cove

At the invitation of Councilor Nick Lalich MP, Mayor for the City of Fairfield, and Councilor Win Gaffney, Mayor for the Municipality of Lane Cove, H. E. Hu Shan, Chinese Consul General in Sydney paid respective official visits to the two cities. Mr. Hu and the two mayors had pleasant exchange of opinions about China-Australia relations, the relation between China and NSW and the two cities’ relations with China and Chinese cities.

Mr. Hu briefed the two mayors of the recent development of the China-Australia relationship and that between China and the State of New South Wales as well as the role of the Chinese Consulate General in Sydney. He pledged his full support to the development of friendship between the two cities and the cities of China and promised to do his uttermost to assist.

Mr.Hu exchanges gift with Councilor Win Gaffney

Councilor Nick Lalich briefed Mr. Hu of the sister-city relations between Fairfield and China’s Zhengjiang City. Councilor Win Gaffney briefed of Lane Cove’s exchanges with various Chinese cities. The two mayors appreciated the Consul General’s commitment to assist and pledged to continue their efforts in promoting the exchange and cooperation between Fairfield, Lane Cove and relevant Chinese cities.

Programs of cultural exchange between the Consulate General and the cities were also discussed in details during the meetings.
